What do we think of this whisky?
Sometimes you wish the scotch you smell tastes like the aroma. The Bowmore 15 Year Old Single Malt does not quite align this way. Don’t get us wrong, this is still a very nice scotch. When you stick your nose in the glass you get a good whiff of sweet raisins. The first sip though gives you a spicy smack in the face. If you’re into spicier whisky characteristics then you will probably appreciate this one and the scotch still has Bowmore’s distinct peaty flavour to add to it.
If you’re into sherried peaty whiskies, this is still a great choice. It’s a little pricier than some other options out there and you could even find other alternatives from other Scottich regions that have been slightly peated.
Should I add ice or water?
It might be good to add a little water to this one. The neat spirit is quite full on and adding water will bring out a little more of the sweetness from the sherry casks so that the aroma more closely aligns with the flavour.

What music pairs with this whisky?

It’s fair to say Pearl Jam’s Ten is a very popular album. ‘Alive’ is a massive track and the end guitar solo is pretty epic. You’re probably wondering why we’ve chosen this album then? Well the production has a kind of live and in your face element to it. This reminds us of the Bowmore’s 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch as that first sip is crude but still distinctly likeable.
ENJOY.
